Field to Market Seeking Public Comments on its Process-Based Standard

March 08, 2023

Today, Field to Market: The Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture™ announced that it is seeking public comment on its Process-Based Standard through May 8, 2023.

The Process-Based Standard details the core requirements for Field to Market projects to catalyze continuous improvement, demonstrate credible progress, and pursue sustainability claims. The standard also provides a clear understanding of the credibility and rigor of our members’ efforts to improve environmental outcomes and create shared value that enhances farmer livelihoods.

Field to Market members, including continuous improvement project administrators, have submitted comments to the Standards Committee overseeing this review process on several items in the standard, including project eligibility requirements, project pathways, project statuses , claims and measurement, monitoring, reporting, and verification (MMRV) processes.

Comments from public stakeholders will help the Alliance improve the clarity, relevance, and effectiveness of the standard in meeting its sustainability and continuous improvement objectives.

“Our Process-Based Standard is critical for allowing our members to collaborate in meaningful Continuous Improvement Projects and make credible sustainability claims,” said Field to Market President Scott Herndon. “We welcome any feedback that can help us improve the Standard’s ability to help our members reach and exceed their sustainability goals.”

Please visit our website to learn more about the standard and complete the questionnaire to provide your comments.
