University of Georgia Joins Field to Market

ATHENS, GA – Field to Market: The Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture is pleased to welcome the University of Georgia as a new member. For more than 100 years, the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences has lead the university’s land-grant mission through teaching, research and extension.

Since 1859, the college has worked hard to support Georgia’s No. 1 industry: agriculture. Agriculture and natural resources agents continue to work with farmers through traditional face-to-face workshops as well as through new technologies like online classes and smart phone applications. Agents also help increase awareness and appreciation of Georgia’s environmental assets and help protect these resources by offering expertise in topics including invasive species, pollution prevention, and soil and water conservation.

“Sound agricultural research is vital to our work at Field to Market, and we are honored to have the University of Georgia contribute to our efforts through their expertise in water and soil conservation.
